These desires, rooted in a sinful, anti-God system controlled by Satan, oppose the love of the Father. Why Be A Slave Again? | Lesson 57 | Bible Study

In this lesson, Paul urges the Galatians to forsake legalism and return to genuine devotion to Christ. Before knowing God, they were enslaved to idols, powerless entities with no real existence. Paul highlights that now, through grace, they know God personally, and more importantly, are known by God. He is bewildered that they would turn back to legalistic practices, which are weak and worthless, offering no spiritual growth or salvation. Legalism traps believers in a futile cycle of effort and failure, whereas true freedom comes through grace in Christ.

The Fall Of Man Pt. 4 | Sunday Sermon

In 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, Paul explains that through Adam's disobedience, sin and death entered the world, affecting all humanity. In contrast, through Christ's obedience, believers are made alive. This reflects a covenantal relationship where Adam's fall is imputed to all, while Christ's righteousness is granted to believers. Tim Keller and other scholars note that sin is inherited, not just learned. The Fall brought spiritual and physical death, and humanity’s desire for independence from God led to sin and suffering.
