It sees the tribulation as ongoing throughout history until Christ's return, emphasizing the symbolic interpretation of Old Testament elements in light of Christ's work. Postmillennialism, on the other hand, views the millennium as an era characterized by the gradual spread of the Gospel and moral improvement, culminating in Christ's return after this period of widespread Christian influence, leading to the final judgment and the eternal state.
