Reconcilliation & Church Discipline Pt. 3 | Sunday Sermon

The teaching emphasizes that reconciliation in the church requires both the offended and the offender to seek resolution, and church discipline is essential for maintaining purity and love within the body of Christ. Many misuse “judge not” to avoid accountability, but Scripture shows that believers are called to lovingly confront sin while first examining their own lives. The first step in discipline, as outlined in Matthew 18:15, is a private meeting where the issue is addressed directly and gently, with the goal of restoration rather than condemnation. When handled privately and in love, reconciliation can be achieved without gossip, bitterness, or unnecessary escalation, thereby regaining the brother or sister and preserving the unity of the church.
