Angelology - Lesson 6 | Grow In Grace

The lesson warns believers not to be deceived by false doctrines or supposed revelations from angels, reminding us that Scripture forbids worshiping angels and teaches that only God is worthy of prayer and devotion. Scripture also shows that Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, and that some fallen angels—now called demons—work to mislead and oppose believers. The study then explains that demons originated from a rebellion in the angelic realm sometime after creation but before Genesis 3, with Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 offering symbolic descriptions of Satan’s prideful fall. These passages suggest that Satan, once a powerful and exalted cherub, desired to be like God, leading one-third of the angels into rebellion and forming the demonic forces active in the world today.
